Hello!
Sorry Ive been so busy lately i coulndt make any new posts. October is the Halloween month, and look what i found in the supermarket!! So cute! I didnt do anything special, except for visiting friends for dinner. Ive heard Finland doesnt have this Halloween tradition of kids going door to door asking for candies, and actually I didnt see anyone doing that. The only thing happening were shops selling costumes and Halloween related products.
So november has arrived, and here you can really see the difference in weather compared to october. Well if youre like me, you never believe what people tell you beforehand about Finland, always think theyre exagerating. Ive heard many times that november is the worst month ever, that its dark and cold and finnish people talk less (is it possible?) and everybody feels a bit down, depressed-like, until Christmas party spirit comes. I got a bit sad when I heard all that cause november is the month of my birthday, but i thought like “Nahhh cant be that bad” and now i will really check the facts by myself. Yesterday i was just watching some TV and doing my finnish homework after lunch, when i looked outside the window and suddenly it was everything white out there! It wasnt snowing ice flakes but little ice balls, and it was very intense. I guess this was the first “white day” of the winter, already in the first week of november.
We had previously planned to go swimming as we do almost every weekend but, with all that white outside, we decide to change plans and go for a 1hour walk in the forest. It was so refreshing!I dressed up in 2 pants for the first time this winter, and 2 coats; took a camera with me but unfortunately the batteries were dead.
Well the finnish course is going well and we are now studying the past tense, among other things. We are using a new book, different from the one used for courses 1 and 2. I didnt like this new book very much (actually 2 new nooks) not only because it is “boring”: black&white, almost not illustrations.. but also cause it looks more complicated, the exercises are tiring and predictable, and theres no answer key – in my opinion this is the worst. I need answer key to check mistakes and learn better! But what can i do, have to live with it now. Heres a foto of the group on the day we took the Level 2 exam:
Last wednesday Kristiina and i went to see the Ars Fennica exhibition at the Kiasma museum. Once again i forgot to take my camera and made some photos with the phone, unfortunately my phone is good only for day pictures. The Ars Fennica is actually a competition of the best artist of the year. There were 5 artists competing and in the end of the exhibition we could vote for our favorite. This was the artist I liked best, she interferes in pictures with painting. In this example she painted the reflection of the building, its so perfect that its hard to tell which one is the picture and which is the painting.

This week I had a free morning to walk around Tampere. I was staying at the university of technology student´s place, which isnt so near the city center so I had to get a bus to get to the center.
I had a map in hands with the location of the things i wanted to see, and it was incredibly easy to find them. I got to the center at around 8 am and the weather was very cloudy, windy and chilly. Before I started my tour i stopped in a cafe and had a cup of tee to warm myself up a little bit. Ahh I also spent some half an hour there studying finnish cause I would have my level 2 exam the next day.
After that I went out. I visited the Muumin museum, because i like muumins so much and it was a perfect place to know all the history of muumins, and much more. In the exhibition there were, paintings, illustrations from the books, and miniatures so perfectly hand-made! I was stunned. When i finished that, i went outside and it was raining.

I just LOVE the autumn colors, its so beautiful!!! In finnish its called “RUSKA”. Next stop was the pikkupalatsi (small palace), the park, Finlayson, churches, specially the Tuomiokirkko, cause I needed to see the painting of the boys carrying the wounded angel. This painting is so famous, and beautiful, unfortunately I couldnt see close but at least I managed to take a picture. The Amaranth video of Nightwish tells the story of the painting.

Although good things have happened lately, today im not feeling the best. Maybe its because of the finnish course? Well actually theres no problem related to the exam I was so scared of, I had a good exam yesterday and saturday i´ll get the result and is my last class. But unfortunately I have to stop here for now, cause I couldnt sign up for the next level, you all must already know the reason: FULL!!! No news.
Now I started studying finnish I liked it and, actually was no big surprise cause Ive always loved studying languages so I was quite sure I´d love to study it. But is kindof a cold shower now if Ill have to wait until next year to continue the next levels. But there are also of course other reasons to be feeling the way Iam feeling. Im starting to believe Im bipolar, whatever it means. And Im getting tired of this mood switches through the day. Is unbeliavable how one person can be happy and only 1 hour later be desperately unhappy. I have many beliefs of my own and maybe this what Im confirming today is my belief that nobody will ever be happy in its full meaning, in this life. Yes I am pessimistic BUT this is not only pessimism, is realism also, what i see and feel every day. I believe there is another life in heaven with God, after we leave this one and thats the place where everybody will be happy, not this Earth. So, do I get comfort from this fact? Or do I keep struggling in trying to be fully happy or believing it is possible ?
Im just tired of deceptions. I prepare for the worst so I get happy when the best comes, and if the worst comes, well then Im not deceptioned at all.

From 16th to the 26th of September 2010 the 23rd Rakkauta&Anarkiaa (Helsinki International Film Festival) took place in Helsinki. Every year the festival gathers movies from inumerous countries, including Cannes award winning pieces, and also brazilian films sometimes (there was only 1 this year). As expected, the movies are quicly sold out weeks before. By the way this is something thats getting me really upset about Finland, everything sells out incredibly fast, from day to night.
For example I just saw this ad for a Chisu concert still on the 21st of october (more than 1 month ahead) and i called for info about tickets, but guess what, they were already sold out. Also NEXT YEAR in july there will be an Iron Maiden concert and they are already advertising, maybe next month they already start selling and in the same day it sells out. great. Just cant understand why so much worry in fixing everything in such advance. Now it seems that ANYTHING i want to do is always sold out or full! Thats unnaceptable GRRRRR.
So, only 2 days away from the end of the festival, and knowing how finnish events work, I had already given up on the idea of attending the festival. But something incredible suddenly happens: ville calls me about 10am saying there would be a surprise-screening that night and tickets were being sold that same day. So we had a chance!!!!
The movie was suposed to be a surprise at first, like people go and buy the tickets and sit down to see the movie and only then they know what movie is that. But somehow the information leaked and now everybody in the city knew the surprise movie coming was Rare Exports and people were really eager to see this finnish piece.
Entre 16 e 26 de Setembro estava rolando o Festival Internacional de Cinema de Helsinki, chamado Amor&Anarquia. Todos os anos participam filmes dos mais diversos países, inclusive vencedores de outros festivais como Cannes, e até filmes do Brasil, que esse ano só teve 1 representante. Como é um evento muito esperado, os tickets esgotam rapidamente (pra variar).
Aliás estou muito zangada com isso, TUDO aqui esgota rápido, nunca vi. Outro dia mesmo, ainda no mês de Setembro, vi um anúncio do show de Chisu no fim do mês de Outubro e adivinha? Já estava esgotado pra variar. Tudo, absolutamente tudo que voce queira fazer ou comprar, pode apostar que já está lotado ou esgotado. Nunca vi, eles compram, fazem tudo com tanta antecedência, por exemplo em JULHO de 2011 vai ter um show de Iron Maiden aqui e adivinha, já estão anunciando e não demora já estão vendendo e esgotando os ingressos. GRR!
Sendo assim, faltando apenas 2 dias para terminar o festival que eu tinha conscientemente desistido de tentar ir, eis que surge algo inédito, nunca visto antes na história desse pais: Ville me liga +- umas 10h do dia 24, dizendo que tinha escapado uma notícia sobre o festival, teria uma exibicão surpresa aquela noite e o filme tinha sido divulgado no jornal acidentalmente, a premiére de Rare Exports.

This is a suspense movie about Christmas and Santa Claus, but in a way you never saw them before!!! Basically the message is, forget that good old man image you believed for years and face the truth: Santa is an evil monster! haha There are also some other messages like about the environmental destruction by men´s greed. The movie will come to theaters only on December 3rd, so I couldnt wait until then! I ran to Helsinki center, with my cousin, hoping there would be still some tickets left, although inside I was already preparing myself to hear a “sorry, sold out”. Getting to the teater I learned it was still closed and tickets would start being sold only by 3pm. Great!
We decided to go walking in the center and eat something. By 2:30pm we were back to the movie theater and guess what, already some 20 people sitting on the floor, waiting. Only at 3pm sharp they opened two cashiers and started selling, one cashier accepted money and the other only bank/credit card. As most of finnish people use only bank cards instead of money (unbelievable), I was the second to buy tickets in the money cashier : )
Everything worked well in the end, we left the place happy and excited about the screening later in the evening. Obviously the tickets were sold out “after a massive rush for tickets”, according to the festival´s website. See how happyyyy I am in the pic with our tickets!!
Esse longa é um suspense que promete mudar para sempre tudo o que conhecemos sobre o Natal e o Papai Noel rsrsrsrrs. A “verdadeira história” sobre o Papai Noel, segundo o filme, é que ele não é aquele bom velhinho clichê, mas pelo contrário, um monstro das trevas hahaha. O filme ainda toca no assunto da destruicao da natureza pelos homens, e só chegará aos cinemas abertamente para todo o público em Dezembro (pelo menos na Finlândia, não sei no resto do globo).
Então, esse era o filme-surpresa e eu fui com Warllen (meu primo) correndo a Helsinki, até o cinema onde estaria vendendo. Chegamos lá +- umas 11h, já morrendo de medo de estar esgotado rsrs. Mas não, que milagre! Na verdade a bilheteria ainda estava fechada e abriria só às 15h. Tudo bem, então fomos andar pelo centro, fazer uma hora e depois voltar. Passamos no mercado ao ar livre de Kaupatori e compramos uns pães finlandeses tradicionais pra comer. Mais ou menos 14:30, faltando meia hora pra bilheteria abrir, voltamos pro cinema.
Chegando lá já tinha umas 20 pessoas sentadas no chão esperando a bilheteria abrir!!! Às 15h em ponto comecaram a vender, uma fila rapidamente se formou e já estava lá fora, de tão grande. Eles abriram 2 caixas, 1 para pagamento em dinheiro e outro para pagamento em cartão. Como quase todo mundo aqui usa praticamente só cartão, todos foram para o caixa 2 e eu fui a segunda a comprar os ingressos no caixa 1 (só 8 euros) porque paguei no dinheiro ahhaha. No final das contas deu tudo certo, saímos felizes e saltitantes com nossos ingressos para o filme à noite, e continuamos passeando pelo centro da cidade até dar o horário do filme. Os ingressos rapidamente se esgotaram, óbvio. Olha que carinha que felicidade com nossos tickets! : )
Finally when the time came for the show, we were there in the theater and also were the director and many of the professionals involved in the production of the film. As it was a premiere, the director gave a speech about the making-of of the film and everything. People were really excited to see it and applauded him very much. I also liked it very much, was nice to see a totally different side of finnish landscape, since the movie was shot in Lapland, north of Finland. Diferently from the rest of the country, there are mountains in Lapland and I didnt know that. What I also liked about the movie were the special effects, very professional and well done, and the soundtrack. The music was great! The only small thing was that there were no english subtitles, but no problem I could understand the movie very well and also I could sometimes understand the actors speaking finnish : )Na hora da exibicão, como era premiére, o diretor estava presente e deu um pequeno discurso sobre como foi fazer o filme; também estavam outras pessoas envolvidas no projeto. O filme se passa na Lapônia, norte da Finlândia, e eu achei muito legal porque nunca fui lá e imaginava totalmente diferente, por exemplo sem montanhas como todo o resto do país. Mas pelo contrário, na lapônia tem montanhas sim, não tão altas mas existem. Então a paisagem é um tanto diferente da paisagem que voce no centro, sul, leste e oeste, geralmente muito planas e com muitos lagos e coníferas. Também gostei dos efeitos especiais, ao mesmo nível de Hollywood hahaha, mas principalmente, amei a trilha sonora. Simplesmente perfeita, músicas lindas que aliás tenho que procurar pra baixar.
O único probleminha foi o fato de ser em finlandês, e não tinha legendas! Mas mesmo assim deu pra entender todo o filme, e ainda conseguia entender algumas palavras e frases que os atores diziam : ) Ahhh e o menininho protagonista era tãoooo fofinho!!!! Em resumo, adorei o Rare Exports!
After checking the festival we went to a bar and after that to a disco which was playing 80´s italian music hahaha, yes as my friend Cath from Cat in College already said, people here in europe just LOVE the 80´s music, all the time im listening to radio some old music form 80´s or early 90´s come hahaha. My friend Kristiina and I went to Design Museo to check the Fashion Photo Helsinki exhibition, by brazilian photographer Daniela Talvitie. Daniela is a fashion photographer from Recife, she lives in Finland and is married to a finnish husband. The photos were amazing, very stylish. The locations were famous places like the Uspenski Catedral, Botanical Garden, national library, some florest i dont remember the name, and so on. The models were wearing famous finnish designers such as Marimekko, Minna Parikka, Hanna Sarém and IVANAHelsinki. Besides the photos, many of the clothes in the pictures were live there in the exhibition! There was also an interactive installation available, a “dress-the-doll” game, owww i just love that. Below pics i took of some of the photos in the exhibition.
Kristiina e eu fomos à exposicão Fashion Design Helsinki, obra da fotógrafa Daniela Talvitie. Daniela é brasileira de Recife, casada com um finlandês e mora aqui ha alguns anos. As fotos dela são lindas, o tema era o fashion design finlandês e as fotos foram produzidas em locais famosos de Helsinki, como a Catedral Ortodoxa Uspenski, jardim botânico, biblioteca nacional, em uma floresta que não sei o nome, etc. As modelos vestiam marcas finlandesas famosas como Marimekko, Minna Parikka, Hanna Sarém, Ivana Helsinki, etc. Além das fotos, muitas das roupas que tinham sido fotografadas estavam ao vivo e a cores na exposicão! Tinha também uma instalacão com um daqueles joguinhos de “vestir a boneca” que eu adoro! Abaixo algumas fotos que tirei das fotosda exposicão.

I was in love with this Minna Parikka set of dress+silk scarf below, OMG was soo beautiful. Very finnish style! After the exhibition Kristiina and I went to check the prices in the Minna Parikka store, in Bulevardi, but only the scarf was more than 100euros

NO DETALHE sapato Minna Parikka. Não é lindo?? Claro sou louca por sapatos, eu simplesmente amooo o estilo dessa shoes designer.
Também apaixonei por esse conjunto (tbm Minna Parikka) de vestido e echarpe/lenco/sei lá. Era taooo lindo, de seda. Como disse Kristiina “tem uma cara muito finlandesa”. Depois da exposicao nós fomos visitar a loja Minna Parikka no Bulevardi e, adivinha, só o echarpe era algo em torno de 100 euros Poxa por que tudo que é lindo e que eu amo é tão caro? Abaixo mais da vitrine da loja. Adoro os sapatos com coracoes recortados!!!!
After the exhibition we were walking the shops in Bulevardi and Fredrikinkatu, where I bought a very cool pipo that has been redesigned from another kind of clothes, and tried some glasses. Yes i urgently need new glasses to substitute those old-fashioned grandma glasses i have now, according to Ville rsrsrs. At first i was thinking of some rounded square shape, color framed maybe? But then i was trying these new models, round and cat stiles, black framed, they were incredibly good for my face shape! And they are very trendy now. But the prices were bit too high in my opinion, well at least this rounded one costs almost 400euros. Ok it is a Kenzo, but anyway… well actually id love to have Kenzo glasses since i love the brand because of their perfumes. After that we stopped for a nice coffee (tea in my case cause im not a huge fan of coffee), had a goood catch-up talk and then headed to finnish course. Always lovely afternoons with Kristiina <3
Depois da exposicão andamos pelas lojas de Bulevardi e Fredrikinkatu, onde comprei numa Ecodesign shop um gorro de inverno muitoo legal feito de tecidos reaproveitados de roupas que não foram vendidas, isso ae reaproveitamento de material!! Também experimentei alguns óculos de grau, acabei nao comprando nenhum ainda mas seriamente preciso resolver isso o mais rapido possivel. Como diz Ville, os meus óculos atuais são “óculos de vovozinha” ahhahaha. Eu adorei alguns óculos no estilo “cat”, incrivelmente firam otimos com o meu tipo de rosto, e ele estão super em alta. O problema era o preco, cheguei a experimentar um de 400 euros, nossa. Ok era um Kenzo, na verdade eu nao ligo pra marca do oculos. Mas se bem que um Kenzo eu ia gostar porque adoro os perfumes tambem 
Depois disso paramos pra tomar um café (chá no meu caso pq não gosto muito de café), colocamos a conversa em dia, e depois fui pro curso de finlandês. Adoro as tardes com Kristiina, sempre agradáveis, rimos muito, conversamos muito, e sempre visitamos alguma exposicao, o que eu adoro!!!
I wrote the other day i was checking this Suomalainen Kirjakauppa bookstore in the mall and wanted to use the pics that were in the cellphone.
Well i was having so much fun there in the middle of all those Muumins (the white fellows below), color pencils and stabilo pens, cute notebooks, stickers and so on, when i spotted a Hello Kitty stand !
Friends who know me for a short while dont know but, I Love Hello Kitty and i have a real collection including HK dolls, mugs, clothes, pillow, toys, keyrings, sewing kits, stickers, greetings cards, stationary, notebook, stamp, mirror, hairbrush, make up, hair rubbers, bags, band-aids, shampoo, soap, perfume, towel, even Hello Kitty shoes I have. They were almost all gifts from my dear ex-boyfriend and his best friend, whos a very good friend of mine.
So how surprised was i when i went to check the Hello Kittys and then found this suomalainen finnish pirate version hahaha! At first i thought it was chinese stuff, but i looked behind the packaging and to my surprise, that piece of art was result of a finnish creative mind Yes. It looked so funny! I tried to google this “Catanimals” (i guess is the brand) but didnt find anything. The Pyyhekumi word below means eraser.

Oi! No outro dia quando estava escrevendo sobre a visita à livraria Suomalainen Kirjakauppa eu nao pude usar as fotos que ainda estavam no cel.
Bem, como eu disse, estava lá na loja me divertindo com todos aqueles Muumins fofos, os lápis de cor, as canetas Stabilo baratas (!), as agendas fofas, adesivos e etc, quando de repente vi um stand com coisas de volta às aulas da Hello Kitty! Nem todos sabem (apenas quem me conhece a alguns 3 anos) mas eu tenho uma verdadeira colecao de Hello Kitty: bonecos, canecas, roupas, almofada, brinquedos, chaveiros, kits de bordado e costura, adesivos, cartoes, canetas e tudo de papelaria, cadernos, agenda, fichário, carimbos, espelhos, escova de cabelo, maquiagem, coisinhas de cabelo, necessaire, bolsas, band-aids, shampoo, sabonete, perfume, toalha, até Melissa da HK eu tenho. Todas essas HKs foram na maioria presentes do meu querido ex namorado, e do melhor amigo dele, que ainda é um grande amigo meu hoje.
Entao imagina minha surpresa quando cheguei mais perto e dei de cara com essa versao suomalainen finlandesa pirata de Hello Kitty hahaha! Primeiro pensei que só podia ser chinês, mas daí olhei atrás da embalagem e nao, aquilo realmente era obra de uma mente criativa finlandesa Sim !ahahhaha Achei tao engracado!! Em casa tentei procurar no google alguma coisa sobre essa marca (?) ”Catanimals” mas nao encontrei nada. O Pyyhekumi escrito embaixo significa borracha em finlandês.

Entao, finalmente consegui as fotos que estavam no cel. Baixei o Samsung Studio mas mesmo assim nao funcionou, o jeito foi passar cada foto uma por uma (!) por bluetooth para o laptop. Alguém está reconhecendo esse lugar? Simmm é o mesmo local dessa foto que encontrei no googlemaps e postei quando estava procurando info sobre o curso! Essa é a rua e esse é o prédio onde sao as minhas aulas de finlandês.
A aula comeca às 17:15. De casa até lá dá uns 20 minutos de onibus, as vezes menos dependendo do transito. No primeiro dia peguei o onibus das 16:40, tranquilo. Mas agora eu pego o onibus das 16:10. Tao cedo, por que?? Simplesmente porque no primeiro dia, quando eu peguei o onibus e fui passar o cartao de transporte para pagar, o cartao deu “saldo insuficiente”. Tudo bem, ai eu peguei a bolsa e comecei a procurar minhas moedas pra pagar no dinheiro. Mas eu nao estava achando, e em pé estava dificil com o onibus andando, ai eu peguei e sentei logo no primeiro lugar pro motorista me ver que eu estava procurando o dinheiro na bolsa. Ai ele virou pra mim e falou ” Voce tem que pagar” ahahahha ai eu falei “Ok eu sei. Estou procurando o dinheiro” ai ele “ah ok”. Ai uns minutos depois eu achei a bolsinha de moedas e fui pagar, ele disse “Nao paga agora, se voce esperar passar 1 ponto ja estaremos dentro de Helsinki e voce vai pagar menos” rsrsrsrsrs ai eu disse né “ok!”. Quando entramos em Helsinki ele fez sinal que agora eu podia ir pagar e eu fui.
Quando entreguei a ele o dinheiro ele me deu um cartao (WTF??!) e disse “Hold this with you, dont show anybody. You are very nice. Call me” hahahahha OMG! Eu nao tive nem coragem de ler o que estava escrito, apenas fechei a mao com o cartao e só olhei quando cheguei na aula. Gracas a Deus logo chegou meu ponto, eu desci, olhei disfarcadamente pra tras e ele ainda fez aquele sinal com a mao tipo “me liga” ahaha stalker????!! que MEDO! No cartao tinha cel e endereco da empresa dele.. Bem agora faco de tudo pra evitar esse onibus ne.Por isso estou indo mais cedo.
Entao, esta ainda é a segunda semana de aula e já estamos no capítulo 3, as coisas vao bem rápidas mesmo, porque é curso intensivo (praticamente 1 mes) 4x na semana. Sao evening classes (17 – 21) e na turma tem aproximadamente uns 20 e poucos alunos. Sao 3 ingleses, 3 russos, 5 japaneses, 1 paquistanês, 1 venezuelano, 1 colombiano, 1 canadense, 1 polonesa, 1 alema, 1 tailandesa, 1 holandesa, 1 que eu nao sei a nacionalidade, e eu 1 brasileira. Achava que ia ter mais brasileiros, mas só eu. Tem os que trabalham, os que estudam, os que ficam em casa.
A professora é uma finlandesa de 20 e poucos anos, muito simpática e sorridente. Todos os professores dessa instituicao têm mestrado, mas aqui isso nao é considerado extra, é como um “requisito mínimo” . A aula comeca geralmente com a correcao do kotitehtävät (tarefa de casa) e depois continua com o conteúdo novo. Ao contrário do que eu pensei, tem sim muita prática oral e de áudio! Tem muitos exercicios de listening e de conversacao no livro, daqueles tipo exercicio em dupla e tambem daqueles de todos perguntarem a todos.
O sistema aqui é um pouco diferente: a professora nao explica escrevendo no quadro. Ao invés disso tem em cada sala um projetor, e a professora vai escrevendo em folhas de papel em sua propria mesa, e projetando tudo na parede. Além disso, às vezes ela também usa o computador para digitar diretamente ao invés de escrever em folhas de papel, e tambem para entrar na internet e mostrar imagens para ajudar na explicacao, já que a aula é toda em finlandês desde o PRIMEIRO dia. Ontem ela usou a internet pra falar sobre a exposicao dos Buddy Bears na praca da Catedral por exemplo : ) Na foto está Suki, uma japonesa muito fofa (ela tem voz de mangá!) ela é de Osaka. Como estou sempre sendo uma das primeiras a chegar, nesse dia Suki e eu aproveitamos pra tirar fotos da sala.

Tem um tauko (intervalo) de 15 minutos que eu vou ao banheiro, como alguma coisa (sim a gente tem que levar algo de casa ou ir pra rua comprar algo porque nao tem nenhuma cantina aou algo do tipo no prédio). Eu levo refri ou suco de morango, que adoro, e cookies, pulla (um paozinho doce finlandes) ou uvas. No intervalo tbm converso com outros alunos e mais com a Tania, que senta do meu lado e é minha dupla nos exercicios. Tania é russa e casada com um finlandês, ela também tem uma filha de 4 anos. Eles acabaram de se mudar pra Finlândia, estavam morando antes nos EUA (Atlanta!) porque o marido dela trabalha na Nokia, e agora foi transferido pra cá. Eles moram em Espoo também, um pouco depois de mim, entao ela sempre me dá carona pra casa depois da aula. Já tivemos alguns momentos engracados, por exemplo errando o caminho e dando voltas no mesmo lugar ahhaha ok a noite sempre é mais dificil enxergar a estrada e além disso a sinalizacao aqui esta cada dia diferente por causa das obras, entao voc nunca sabe o que esperar. Ou entao um dia que estava tendo blitz e o guarda parou exatamente ela! rsrs A gente geralmente vai ouvindo musica russa no carro, vou sair trilingue dessa brincadeira rsrs

I am very happy with the finnish course, actually theres a lot of oral and listening practice besides reading and writing so its great. After class im also always trying to use what ive learned, isnt easy to remember always cause this is an intensive course lasting for 1 month only so its many new things each class. Im lucky i already registered for the next level (even not knowing if ill pass or fail this one hahaha) cause since the week we started this one the next level was already full! wow
Well about the class. Theyre evening classes from 17 to 21, there are about 20 something students from many different countries like for example Brasil (im the only one), Japan, Russia, Venezuela, Poland, Germany, Holland, Pakistan, England, Thailand, Canada and so on. The teacher is a 20-something finnish woman, shes very nice and smily. Shes got a master´s degree (in Jyväskyllä, a city in eastern Finland) as well as all the other teachers in this instituion and this is something like a requirement here. Not like in Brasil that having a master´s is something “extra”. We have a 15-min break every evening during which i eat something like cookies or pulla (its a finnish sweet bread) and drink. They dont sell any food/drinks within the course facilities so either you bring from home or you go outside to grab something. During breaks I also talk a lot to Tania, she sits next to me and we always pair for the activities. Shes from Russia and shes married to a finnish guy, they have a little daugther too. They were living in US before moving to Finland, so she´s like me still getting acquainted with the city and the finnish style of life. Coincidently shes living very near me, in Espoo. So after classes we come home together in her car, and we have already been to some funny situations like for example getting lost on the way to my home haha but hey its night, dark and difficult to see where to turn, besides the turning is changing every day due to constructions on the roads. Once a police officer stopped her to see the documents too, OMG i was so nervous hahaha but was everything ok. We usually go all the way listening to nice russian music : ) hope im gonna be speaking russian too by the end of the course lol
On my first day going to class there was this weird situation. I got into the bus and had to look for money in my bag cause the transportation card was out of credit. The driver looked at me and told me i had to pay, then i answered “yes i know, im just looking for the money in my bag”, he said ok. When i found the coins and went to pay he told me to wait until next stop so it would be cheaper! I said ok and then waited for his signal. Some minutes after that he nodded and there i went again. After i gave him the money he said something like “take this, its for you, nobody else. Youre nice. Call me” OMG i didnt even look at the card he put in my hand. What a weird situation why he wanted me to call him??? Now i have to take the bus 30 minutes earlier to avoid meeting this bus driver WTF! Ah i forgot to mention he is like 40-50 years-old
Well back to the class. We always have some kotitehtävät to do (homework) and that is the first thing the teacher starts with, each class. Instead of writing on some kind of blackboard, she writes all the explanation on paper sheets and then she uses the lights projector so we can read everything on the wall. Sometimes she even types straight in the computer or uses the computer for checking pictures in the web. Yeah sometimes she needs to find pictures to help with the explanation since its all in finnish, but she always tries drawing first : )
The girl in the picture is Suki, shes japanese from Osaka and she has such a cute voice, manga-like. We were the first ones to get to class that day so we decided to take some pics while waiting for the class to start.

Já faz alguns dias quero postar mas as fotos que tenho tirado estao no cel e eu estou sem o driver instalado nesse pc para passar as fotos de lá , e nao funciona apenas com o cabo usb, tem que ter o driver da samsung instalado , tal de Samsung Studio alguma coisa. Hoje de manha fiquei toda feliz quando achei um SD card adapter para microSD mas esse pc nao tem entrada para SD! Também nao tem bluetooth. Agora estou procurando na net onde posso fazer o download do samsung studio.
Enfim, no sábado depois da aula peguei uma carona até o shopping com a Tania, russa que também está no curso de finlandês (ainda estou devendo um posto sobre o curso!) Kulta ia me encontrar lá entao fiquei fazendo hora na (Suomalainen Kirjakauppa (livraria). Lembrei do post da Cath sobr eo material de volta às aulas, tinha tanta coisa fofa lá!!!!! Cadernos, agendas, canetas, adesivos da Hello Kitty, achei até um fake da Hello Kitty! E claro tinha muuuito material com design dos Muumin, muito fofos! Quando tiver passado as fotos pro pc eu posto aqui. Fiquei com vontade de comprar tudoo! Tinha também cada cartao lindo, a parte de livros que mais gosto é a infantil, fico apaixonada pelas ilustracoes… enfim adoro papelaria e livraria.
Depois de lá fui para outra loja, chamada Tiimari que incrivelmente nunca tinha entrado antes! Acho que eu ficava só nas lojas de roupas e näo lembrava de mais nada rsrs
Ai essa loja é tudo de bom, é uma mistura de papelaria daquelas que voce encontra todos tipos de papéis, cartolinas, adesivos, enfim todos aderecos para trabalhos manuais e tambem para presentes, com loja de artigos de festa e artigos de decoracao para casa. Tem fantasias, utensilios de cozinha para festas tipo coisas para bolo, cupcakes, fôrmas, confetis, baloes; tem artigos para presente e coisas para casa como caixas, almofadas, velas, casticais, quadro, porta retratos, tudo! Nao dá vontade sair de lá rsrs
Entao ontem foi aniversário do boyfriend, comemoramos com vinho e muffins que eu decorei com chantilly e velinha de aniversário que comprei na Tiimari (foto) Dei de presente um perfume e um cartao que eu fiz com uma foto nossa do inverno passado. Syntymäpäivä significa “data de nascimento” (syntyma=nascimento, päivä=dia) e Hyvää syntymäpaivää significa “feliz aniversário” em finlandês
Bem por enquanto é isso, quando tiver resolvido o problema das fotos no cel posto o resto.

Im having a little problem with the pics i took with my cellphone, i cant download them without the Samsung Studio installed in the computer and i left the damn installation cd in Brasil. Not even my microSD adapter or bluetooth i can use for downloading the pics cause this computer doesnt support any of these options! What ill try now is to download this Samsung Studio from internet, hope i can use the pics soon, there are so many posts i wanna do with them about the finnish course, countryside, sauna, the weather now in fall..
Somehow i got this feeling that i cant write without posting pics rsrs dont know, maybe is this thing inside me that ive always prefered dealing with images than with words so, i feel much more confortable using pics as major content and text only as “side helper”.
Well this birthday theme pic i took yesterday (with camera), is the muffin i decorated with chantilly and birthday candle for kulta, it was his day. We were drinking red wine and eating the muffins after he opened my gifts: my favorite men´s perfume and a Bday card i made myself using one of our winter pics together.
On saturday after class i got a ride from Tania (russian friend from finnish course) to the mall and met kulta there for grocery shopping. I was visiting this Suomalainen Kirjakauppa bookstore where i was in love with all the Hello Kitty and Muumin school materials, and children´s books with all those wonderful illustrations!
After that i headed for Tiimari this shop that is a mix of stationer´s shop + home decoration shop + party stuff shop. There you can also find material for art activities such as paints, canvases, brushes, etc. I just love this kind of place with so many colors, kinds of decoration stuff, cute kitchen tools and supplies for cupcakes <3
Como encerramento da Helsinki Design Week 2010 a universidade Metropolia organizou um desfile com trabalhos de 15 alunos de fashion design. Eu fiquei impressionada com a qualidade das roupas, uma variedade de cortes e a preocupacao com os detalhes… nao dava pra ver de perto, claro, o acabamento, mas pareciam trabalhos perfeitos! Facilmente eu pensaria que eram colecoes de marcas profissionais do mercado. Ao final do desfile as roupas foram leiloadas e o fundo revertido para instituicoes beneficentes.
Infelizmente os videos que fiz ficaram com uma qualidade ruim, mas eu AMEI essa abertura com DJ no background e violino por cima. Foi Maravilhoso!!!! Eu sou suspeita porque adoro violino, acho o instrumento mais lindo de todos, mas realmente ficou legal de verdade.
